They should just take over the whole klang valley and flattten it. build nothing but MRT lines and station. Lets see who rides them then.

NY has been expanding its underground rails under all its towers above.. they even moved stations. Go watch some National Geographic.

Don't understand why they have to tear down or take over the land..there is a town that is older than KL in this world such as London or Paris..even Singapore.. there is no need. to tear down or take away their land..unless if there is geological impact excuses la...but still they have to declare and made to public the results of the assessment...am i right guys??..just my sekupang dua opinion.

Why spend all this money and end up pissing so many voters off? Spend on having more busses, better taxi service, more reliable KTM, making it more pleasant to walk and cycle.. But wait.. These are not so glamourous, eh?

If the govt have did a initial research, none of these would happened. All we have to do is add more trains to increase capacity not build another track stupido.

The civil engineers can do the job without acquiring the whole property. The Parisien go about by acquiring a small portion of the building and punching through the underground entrance leaving the whole building intact. They never demolish their Heritage Buildings and have tremendous respect for the history left behind. BN govt is not a cultured govt but a greedy one especially those nouvea riche developers and contractors well connected to Spad who wants to make a quick buck by killing off our heritage.

There is pattern whr non bumi biz entities have been methdologically been broken up and
shared out between the umnoputra and their cronies, be it bumi and non bumi. They did it to the banking industry, ccb, maybank, southern bank...they tried it with ta securities, they did it with mphb....come on glc's and bumi entities seem to find bailouts continously but any non bumi entities are broken up and shared.

If the government /Prasarana have no other motives to acquire the land but to build the tunnel for the MRT why not compensate the owners adequately and let the owners develop their land with strict safety conditions imposed. MACC should monitor the contractors who gorek and build the tunnels so the tunnels won't collapse under the new developments.

The KLMonorail is already serving the Imbi, BukitBintang and Chinatown areas.
Duplicating the same thing or same services within the same area in transportation sector is cost effective?
And once the tunneling are done , guess which cronies will lay their dirty hands on the prime land above it. Current estimated value for BukitBintang is at RM$1,800 - 2,200per sq ft.

They said all major cities having MRT run to where most people doing shoppings like complexs and busy streets. LRT has already been running to this area and stop at bukit bintang plaza. People from station can spread out to surounding complexs so why still need to have MRT to run here? Why can't they try to plan and realign jointing up to LRT in your drawing board ? Why they want to waste monies and create so must of issues?

As long as they don't build any business lots on this plot of land, it's fair. Some of us have to sacrifice a little for the masses( public) convenience.

If they is new business lots there, present owners should be given some purchase option..

They did it at Masjid India without acquisition excepts perhaps for the staiton. So why not do the same in Jalan Sultan and Jln Bukit Bintang Area. I think it all bore down to what they want to do!

An underground station that cant be aligned? These ppl should learn from London, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Instead of making it happen, they are making excuse for it to happen.

Bollocks!!!

Goverment should seriously relook into how they can built those MRT lines without acquisiton. It would be great if MRT station can be built among all the shops/building without any acquisiton. MRT station if build within these so call old shops/building will become a tourist attraction.
With all the modern technology, its not impossible if they want to do it.

I wonder why Prasarana is not acquiring Starhill or the Marriot Hotel or the Pavilion instead. Lets see, could it be that Starhill, the Marriott and Pavilion belongs to certain people or groups that are "friendly" with the present UMNO led government??

Vote them out in the next election. Enough is enough. A good gomen will not do all this. Good examples are Singapore and Hongkong. All the things we are doing are the opposite extremes of a good gomen.eg More expensive MRT compared to China. God bless Malaysia

The is like force selling of the land at low price. Once the tunnel is build, a fat cat like Syed Mokhar will come and acquire the land at low price from the govt and then sell them at high price. This had been done before in Johor.

This is very suspicious... I am sure the will make excuses after the MRT is ready then they will announce that they will develop some massive development, like don't waste precious land...with MRT co taking over, so suspicious. If they don't, then KL will have giant empty land snaking all around, wonderful isn't it? Stop destroying KL!!

The current administration is so bloody dirty. The only beneficiaries from this so called land acquisition are najib, his luxury label loving wife and his cronies.

The land grab law in established and developed shopping belt and heritage site send a strong message that with power and brute force u can do anything and a disincentive for entrepreneurship!!!!

Why need to built underground if the properties acquired above r to be left vacant for safety reason???????

Isn’t it cheaper to built on top without additional tunnelling costs!!!!!!!

If Singapore or Hong Kong being small islands with so much MRT connections and stations were to built their MRT this way, there will be nothing on their island except MRT stations!

Again , it is the UMNOputra at their dirty tricks , using power to take over land to fulfill their evil desires.

Malaysia's Land Acquisition Act is unique in that land below the property (which extends to the centre of the earth) also belongs to the land owner. I think it should be amended as many lots of lands are being acquired just because the tunnel has to go underneath the property.

The project probably is under the planning of third class engineers and architects who are lazy to use their brains to solve the technical problems, or they have never exposed to new construction technologies or they have never seen those complicated pedestrian linkages and 6 level underground MRT stations in Tokyo, New York, etc....

Demolition and takeover of existing buildings for the purpose are not good ways...

Isn't the MRT supposed to transport people from one location to another, bring people to Petaling Street and Bukit Bintang? It seems that the MRT would destroy some of the very points of interest it was meant for. As always, go back to basics, what is the project for, what are the aims.
